The English/Language Arts Course of Study has been written as a partial fulfillment of the requirements of section 3313.60 of the Ohio Revised Code. In accordance with the guidelines put forth by the Ohio Department of Education, this English/Language Arts Course of Study is the official document which prescribes the (K-12) English/Language Arts content that is to be taught in the Darke County Local School System. The county-wide (K-12) Course of Study is to provide a structured framework which will give an on going direction to the English/Language Arts offerings of the Darke County Local School Districts.

The county-wide (K-12) English/Language Arts Course of Study is to be used by teachers as they develop their lesson plans and prepare to teach. The county-wide (K-12) English/Language Arts Course of Study should also be of benefit to administrators, parents, and the general public.
