METHODS AND TECHNIQUES OF LIFTING
Program Goal: Students will be knowledgeable about the different lifting programs available to the general public today and know the advantages and disadvantages of each program.
Program Objective: 1. The student will be able to identify different workout programs from content, and make decisions of application for his/her individual needs.
Instructional Objectives:
The student will:
1.1 learn the content and methods of a workout designed for building bulk muscle tissue;
1.2 learn the content and methods of a workout designed for building muscle tone;
1.3 learn the content and methods of a workout designed for weight loss;
1.4 learn the advantages and disadvantages of each type of program.
Program Objective: 2. The student will develop and implement a lifting program for him/herself.
Instructional Objectives:
The student will:
2.1 design a personal weight lifting and aerobic plan to fit his/her needs and lifestyle;
2.2 implement the fitness program.
Program Objective: 3. The student will study and learn the advantages and disadvantages of flexibility in workout programs.
Instructional Objectives:
The student will:
3.1 learn the advantages of flexibility exercises in various workouts studied;
3.2 apply flexibility exercised to his/her personal lifting program.
AREA OF STUDY II
NUTRITION
Program Goal: Students will be knowledgeable about proper nutrition to follow while performing different workouts, and be knowledgeable about various vitamin supplements. The student will be knowledgeable about the various drugs, muscle enhancers and steroids and the dangers of using them.
Program Objective: 1. The student will research on a proper nutritional diet to follow which will fit their personal fitness program.
Instructional Objectives:
The student will:
1.1 design a personal diet for his/her fitness program;
1.2 understand the caloric intake, cholesterol intake, the carbohydrate intake, and the fat intake of the diet;
1.3 research on the effects the diet will have on his/her body.
Program Objective: 2. The student will research on the various muscle enhancers, steroids and drugs available on the market today. The research will include the data about the dangers each has to a persons body.
Instructional Objectives:
The student will:
2.1 identify a list of drugs available and used by people today as lifting enhancers;
2.2 identify the dangers of each of these drugs.
AREA OF STUDY III
THE HUMAN BODY
Program Goal: Students will learn the composition and the operation of the human body.
Program Objective: 1. The student will learn parts of the body.
Instructional Objectives:
The student will:
1.1 identify the bones in the skeletal system;
1.2 identify the muscles of the vascular system;
1.3 identify the parts of the respiratory system.
Program Objective: 2. The student will learn the various joints in the human body and identify how each moves and learn how the bodies muscles move these joints.
Instructional Objectives:
The student will:
2.1 identify the different joints in the human body;
2.2 identify and name the various muscle groups in the human body;
2.3 explain how the muscles of the body move the joints through the range of motion.
