Teachers that know how to use assistive technology can help all students to learn by making accommodations for individual needs. Inspiration Software, Inc. makes both Inspiration and Kidspiration software. Both of these products allow students to build graphic organizers by combining pictures, text, and spoken words to represent thoughts and information. This product is a great tool for those students that are visual learners. Both of these products can be downloaded as a free 30 day trial.

Don Johnston makes popular software such as Solo, Write:Outloud, Co:Writer, Draftbuilder, and Start-To-Finish Books. None of these products can be directly downloaded to your computer. All of the products can be ordered from Don johnston for a 30 day trial using their guarantee leader application.

IntelliTools is the maker of interactive software that allow students to learn in a multi sensory environment. All of this software can be adapted for students with physical, visual, and cognitive disabilities.  IntelliTools Classroom Suite is a skill-building tool for K-8 students, designed to boost their achievement.  It provides teachers with a systematic approach to critical skills practice. And it provides students with engaging practice activities to help them improve in reading, writing, and math.

Premier Assistive Technology makes a suite of products to help people access information through the use of affordable technology. Some of the software includes: Scan and Read, Talking Word Processor, Text-To-Audio, Ultimate Talking Dictionary, and Universal Reader. All of these can be downloaded as trial versions. Their Talking Calculator can be downloaded for free.  An incredible piece of software, the Intergalactic Translator, is able to translate digital text into 8 different languages.

Texthelp Systems Inc. has developed software products which fall into many classes .... accessibility software, dyslexia software, text to speech software, to name just three. Software includes: PDFaloud, Read&Write, Browsealoud, and Screenreader.
