Welcome to April's Language Arts Web Site
Connecting Language & Technology
I have been in education for eight years. I spent the first five years of my career at Mississinawa Valley, teaching eighth grade language arts for two years and then first grade for three years. I enjoyed both ends of the spectrum, there were good and bad days at each grade level. While at Mississinawa, I completed my masters degree in Educational Leadership and also obtained my principal licensure and a license in curriculum and instruction. Since getting that license in 2006, I have been interested in working in curriculum.
I got a bit of an opportunity in the fall of 2007 when I worked with Carl Jones, at the Darke County ESC to facilitate an IMPACT workshop in mathematics. The following summer, the ESC had a job opening and right before the birth of our first child, I was offered the job. After my maternity leave, I started my new job, Language Arts Coordinator, here at the ESC. I have been serving in that position for three years now.
The purpose of this site is to assist teachers wanting to infuse technology into their language arts classroom. This site was originally created to work with Jodi Bennett and her seventh grade language arts classroom, but there are other resources here as well.
